Activities in Kviberg — more than you'd expect

Wondering what there is to do around Kviberg Park Hotel & Conference? The area surrounding Prioritet Serneke Arena in Göteborg has it all — from indoor climbing and obstacle courses to peaceful nature walks along the Lärjeån valley. Sport, nature and relaxation come together here, quite literally just outside the hotel door.

What makes Kviberg unique is the variety. You can start your morning cross-country skiing at Skidome, have lunch at the hotel and wrap up the afternoon with beach volleyball at the sandy Beach Center. Or take a completely different direction — scale vertical walls at Klätterdome, run the OCR course with your colleagues, or hike through deciduous forest and ravines just a stone's throw away. Whether you're travelling with family, a sports team or a conference group, there are activities to suit everyone.

Want to plan a day with multiple activities in Kviberg? Call us on 031-395 11 00 or email [email protected] and we'll help you put together a programme tailored to your group.

The OCR course at Kviberg Park

Twenty-one obstacles await you outdoors — swing walk, rings, dragon's back, A-frame, weaver and the notorious ramp that demands both physical and mental strength. The OCR course at Kviberg Park is built to push you to your limits, yet works just as well for beginners as for those competing at elite level.

The course is located right next to the arena and the hotel, making it a natural addition to a conference day or training camp. Groups that run the course together tend to talk about it for weeks afterwards — there's something about helping each other over a three-metre-high wall that creates a different kind of team spirit.

Activities in Kviberg for groups and teams

Sports teams, clubs and corporate groups rarely find a place with the same concentration of activities as Kviberg. Skidome, Beach Center, Klätterdome and the OCR course are all within walking distance of the hotel — meaning you can switch activities without getting in a car.

We'll help you tailor a day (or several) of activities in Kviberg to suit your group's size, fitness level and ambitions. Perhaps a relaxed start with a walk through the Lärjeån valley, followed by beach volleyball and a dinner at the hotel to round things off. Or an intensive training camp with a skiing session in the morning and climbing in the afternoon. The possibilities are greater than you might think.

A day in Kviberg — from morning to evening

08:00

Morning at Skidome

Kick off the day with a session on 1.2 kilometres of indoor track with real snow. Perfect for waking up the body — whatever the season.

10:00

Late morning on the climbing wall

Klätterdome offers walls between 11 and 14.5 metres high, with everything from top rope to bouldering. Equipment is available to hire on site.

12:00

Lunch at the hotel

Take a seat at Glenn Sportsbar and fuel up with a proper lunch before the afternoon's adventures.

14:00

Afternoon at Beach Center

Sand between your toes all year round. Beach volleyball works just as well for a group of friends as for a corporate event, with twenty-eight courts to choose from.

17:00

Evening walk in nature

Follow the Lärjeån nature trail through lush deciduous forest and rolling pastureland. Seven and a half kilometres if you want to go the whole way.

Klätterdome — vertical thrills near the hotel

Just a stone's throw from the hotel, Klätterdome's walls rise up to meet you. With 55 top rope routes, nine autobelays and a lead cave that raises eyebrows even among experienced climbers, there's plenty to explore. The walls range from 11 to 14.5 metres — featuring slabs, overhangs, cracks and even a column replica taken from a real outdoor crag.

Climbing is an activity that works for almost everyone. Beginners get a safe introduction with top rope and autobelay, while those seeking more of a challenge can try lead climbing or drytooling. There's a reason conference groups so often choose climbing as a team-building activity — it demands trust, communication and a dose of courage that sparks conversations long after the harnesses have been unbuckled.

Book climbing as part of your visit to Kviberg by contacting us at the hotel. We'll coordinate times and help you combine climbing with other activities in the area.

Nature and hiking in the Kviberg area

Göteborg isn't just asphalt and trams. Around Kviberg, a surprisingly rich natural landscape unfolds — with walking paths, woodland, streams and ravines offering tranquillity just minutes from the arena. Fjällbo draws rock climbers to the steep cliff faces of Utbybergen, and once you reach the top you're rewarded with views over Bergsjön and a five-kilometre nature trail leading to a Bronze Age cairn.

The Lärjeån valley is partly a protected nature reserve with lush forest and abundant plant and animal life. The nature trail stretches approximately 7.5 kilometres through jungle-like deciduous woodland and rolling pastureland — from Gamlestadsvägen to Angered town centre. A perfect excursion for anyone who wants to swap the conference room chairs for trails and birdsong.

Within Kviberg Park's own green spaces you'll find jogging tracks, outdoor gym equipment and barbecue areas. Bring a flask of coffee and enjoy a moment of calm between meetings, or organise an outdoor group activity with orienteering or a relay race.
